Music

Heartrending music is food for the troubled soul!

Sharing Hindi and Assamese rendition of a Bhupen Hazarika song. While the Hindi one makes me feel the pain, the Assamese one is quite romantic. Enjoy.

Translation of Assamese version

i agree. i readily liked the second version more, the Assamese. perhaps it's due to the arrangement as it is closely sounding like the folk-rock English songs i love. the lyrics are very fine,
there is sadness, yes, the singer or the song writer is uncertain whether his love is truly unrequited
or, it will be difficult for him to know because now he had become a vagabond and the letter-writer won't find an address where she can write him to... for me it's tragic

    1. Glad you liked it Sito. I love both the versions. the first one has this evoking lyrics which i feel are quite difficult to translate in emotion as well. Bhupen Hazarika was a stellar singer, composer and you can definitely feel the folk texture, the fragrance of countryside in his voice. =)
